High School

Still reliant on their parents, teenagers also long for independence. At the same time, they face decisions seemingly at almost every turn: choices about home, school, relationships, their future. And while it may not always be obvious, our teenagers often feel pressure to meet expectations that is sometimes overwhelming.
Our high school Youth Ministries provide a safe haven for putting things into perspective. Kids quickly see that they’re not alone, that others face the same struggles and are looking for answers. And they can be themselves, not who they feel everyone else expects them to be.
In our weekly meetings, our kids learn to form their own relationships with God, with loving attention that accepts and does not judge. Gathering in a circle, we share the best and worst parts of the week, offering each other support, insight and prayer.
Beyond our meetings, in our mission trips and other outreach activities, we challenge the kids to think outside themselves, to see that not everyone is like us and we all have different roles to play in God’s world.
In learning and sharing, we foster a positive environment that instills the enduring values and principles of our faith. With guidance, we learn from each other how to make good choices. We make lasting friendships. And we have fun – games, special activities, outside excursions – every time we get together.
Above all, our teenagers become part of a community, one of positive influences, loving support and spiritual growth.
